Founded in 1911, Record Electrical Associates Ltd. (REA) established a position of recognition in the UK, for the design and manufacture of high-quality, hand-built instrumentation. Our precision meters, renowned for their accuracy and reliability, are integral to many industries worldwide. From petrochemical and marine to power generation, laboratory environments, process plants, and railways, REA products are trusted in some of the most demanding applications.
In 2003, Record Electrical expanded its range by acquiring Townson & Mercer. In September 2020, the company further strengthened its portfolio through the acquisition of Benchmark Instruments Ltd., adding a comprehensive range of analogue indicators to its already diverse offering.
Manufactured at our facility and certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2000, our products meet the highest quality standards. We also offer specialized instruments with ATEX certification for hazardous areas, ensuring safe operation in even the most challenging conditions.
Record Electrical’s journey continues under new ownership. In a recent acquisition, Record Electrical Associates Ltd. became part of the Buckley Holding Co. Ltd. family. Record’s diverse product range, including Benchmark Instruments and Townson & Mercer, continues to be manufactured and traded from our Manchester facility. This transition strengthens our collaboration with Trent Instruments, another Buckley Holding subsidiary specializing in Pressure & Temperature Instrumentation as well as locomotive horns. Established in the mid-1990s, Trent Instruments is known for its commitment to quality, competitive pricing, and technical support.
This acquisition enables the group to expand its market reach alongside the larger sister company, Trent Instruments. The move also enhances REA’s financial stability and provides access to superior engineering and product support.
There is a natural synergy between REA’s and Trent’s markets and customer base.
